This week I read and saw a video of a man putting a baby boy in a washer machine. This article is about how a man in a laundromat puts a child in the washer machine. It was meant to be playful but the door on the washer machine locked and the cycle started. The lady flipped the circuit breakers and the machine stopped.The video was uploaded and went viral on the internet. The prosecutor is calling the man an acquaintance of the woman who was watching one-year-old Samier Bush. His mother was not informed about the incident at the laundry mat. She had to find out while watching the evening news. She called the baby-sitter about the incident. The baby-sitter denied that, that was her on the video tape. Then, the police contacted the little boy mom, Sakia David, and she found out that the baby-sitter had lied to her about not being on the video tape. Sakia told the police she did not know anything about the incident until she watched TV. I think this is just crazy. Who puts a baby in a washer machine in the first place? How couldn't the man see that he put a bay in there. I think that the man did put the baby in the washer machine a purpose. I think he put him in there on purpose in the video you can see that the baby was standing up. That is the most craziest thing ever. It's a good thing that lady will not be watching her son anymore. He was in danger being babysat by her."Camden County prosecutors do not expect to file any charges." That sentence right there is so not right. Why? This takes us back to what I stated before, who puts a baby into the washer machine. That is just crazy in the first place. That man and that women need to go to some kind of counseling on how to take care of a child or something similar that is very similar to that. This is what I think about one of the craziest tragedies ever.

Broadcasting Whiteness

This week we have  read an article called Broadcasting Whitness its about a show that just had a cast with white ethnic girls and it has gotten a lot of views but the media feels as though that all people need to be in a show like African American, Chinese, and Latin. "Girls"is an example of not having enough of diverse shows. Thinking it's going on on all of the shows except BET and Centric. This article points out that other shows like "Two and a Half Men" and "How I Met Your Mother" are just as diverse like "Girls." The show is about 6 white women struggle and how they try to go through life figuring out how there going to move forward. As the show came on tv the media seen that the show only had caucasian people on it. The media didn't like that it was only caucasian people on the show. They thought that it shouldn't be a caucasian show, it should be for all races. I think the show should have other races in it. I think it show have other races in it because to me it shows a little racism. A show with just one race seems a little suspect, but a show that has other races in it shows that it's not racist and all races can communicate with it. I also think that the show shouldn't be on air. I think it shouldn't be on air because this show can offend a lot of people aren't caucasian and also some caucasians that think it should have other races on it. This is what I think about the new show "Girls."

Gun Fashion

This blog is about gun fashion and how they are making special for people to put their guns or other weapons. A Woolrich 182-year-old clothing company created clothes to make it easier for people who is license to carry a gun, hide the gun just someone wouldn't know that you have it. The company created Chinos pants that are $65. The pants have regular pants pockets but behind the pockets it has an invisible pocket that you can put your gun in. The Chinos also have a waste band so that you can put the gun there to. The company also have shirts that they make to hide the guns. The shirt has a barely discernible side slit with Velcro through. The clothes also makes it easier for people to get the guns out faster. I Don't think Americans should be allowed to carry guns just because I think it would actually increase the rate of people getting killed a year than them not having a gun. I think if more people carry guns it would make the enviorment worst because some people would take an advantage of them carrying a gun and use that for bad on other people like car jacking and or maybe use it against women to do bad so I do think more people shouldn't be able to carry a gun. This is what I think about the gun fashion idea.

Heath Fair !!!

At Parkway West, we had a heath fair for the 9th and 10th graders. The people that were there gave out things that we could use to protect ourselves. They gave us condoms, lubrication, fruits, first aid kits, and also brochures for us to read so we can find out things about staying healthy, STD, drugs, being a teen parent, HIV, different illnesses, and just other things to keep us protected and safe. The people who were there told us how to stay protected and also about saying no to drugs. They told me that where they work they see a lot of teen mothers, children being taken from their parents, parents running away from their children, and even children being abused by their parents or guardians. Also, we had senior named Mattisse and talked to us about drugs, also he brung a guess speaker he also talked about drugs and how they can kill us. He just spoke about the bad affects of drugs even though it was okay at one time it still doesn't make him good. He said that the decisions you make would always affect you no matter what, and that the choices you make now will decide whether you get a job or not. He also made it clear to make our future the best and try to make it to the top and also don't let bad things get in our way. I have told you about what happened at our school Health Fair.

Women Losing Health Care in Texas

This article is about how health services are not the best, it talks about a clinic that closed in October along with over a dozen others in the state of texas. The financing for their health was cut by two thirds from the Republican-control Legislature. This act left many low-income women even more less of options, the inconvenience and cost is a problem too. Some of the clinics that were not affiliated to close and the ones run by Planned Parenthood said they were motivated by the fight against abortion. also, it is likely another shutdown will happen with the Medicine Women's Health Program. This clinic serves 130,000 women.  I think it's a bad thing that the clinics are getting shut down because of those reasons. There are a lot of women, young women at that are getting pregnant and they need the health care that they deserve. This should be somemthing that is changed, its putting a lot of people in a bad situation. Clinics should be always open for young women, because if they are not open there are going to be a lot of health problems. Health problems would be a major problem. If there is a stop towards these clinics not opening that would be much better. It would be much better because there would be less and less abortion problems in the world for women all ages or maybe not. I think that the closing of the clinics will get handled in a better way. This is what I think about women losing health care in Texas. 

Stop Kony

Stop Kony !!! This article is about a man named Joseph Kony in Uganda, Africa who has been abducting children and raping them. When Joseph Kony abducts the children he supplies them with weapons to kill their parents and other people. He has thousands of children in his army. Many kids cannot sleep at night because they're frighted by the fact they might get abducted. With this video they are trying to make it go viral, and basically make Joseph Kony famous. The mission in this video is to arrest him, and stop his wrong doings. In this video there was a boy Jacob who was a part of Kony's army, but he eventually escaped. Jacob was crying in the video because his brother was killed by rebels. Now Jacob has finally made it to the U.S, and is safe from the rebels. Now the only thing is to capture Kony, and the only way to do so is to make everyone know about him by spreading him around. At first Jason Russell had proposed the idea of capturing Kony to the people in the white house, but he was rejected because Africa had nothing to do with the United States of America. After he failed the first time he tried again, and that was when Barrack Obama agreed to help capture him. Obama sent some troops alongside with the Ugandan troops out in Africa. Until now Kony has not yet been found, but there is speculation that he is no longer in Uganda because he is aware of the search being done; He has fled to another country in Africa.

Dirt Bike Tradegy

Jermaine Alexander was killed when his dirt bike collided with another vehicle on Frankford Ave. His mother thinks he died because the police were chasing him. Jermaine’s mother is very angry about how the cops were chasing after her kid, but there are other kids out there doing things that are worse than what her child was doing. The captain of the 25^th district says that when he goes to meetings the number one complaint is the noise of dirbikes. I think dirt bikes are very dangerous. They will always be very dangerous. He shouldn’t have been riding it in the street. If he was never riding it in the street he would have never got hit and he would probably still be alive today. There are public field where he can go and ride around. Somewhere safe, somewhere he most likely will not collide with another vehicle. If he was riding in a field, the cops would not have to chase him. People are still going to ride the dirt bikes, even if it is illegal. They just don’t care. This incident should be an example to what could happen to other people who ride dirt bikes where they are not suppose to be ridden. Also, if they know that the people are not going to stop, they should give them a place where they can come in and ride dirt bikes without having to worry about getting run down by the cops, instead of taking them from people and auctioning them.This is what I think about the killing of Jermaine Alexander.

Taryvon Martin

Justice needs to be served !" is what you hear in the streets and on tv. A boy named Trayvon Martin was killed for no reason at all. Trayvon is the most talked about right now in the news. People have had walks to get justice for Trayvon Martin downtown. The police are not arresting Trayvon's killer and the parents are outraged and so are people. Heres his story, Trayvon was walking home from the store he had bought a bag of skittles and a arizona. Well While he was on his way home a man followed him and killed him. Trayvon's shooting took place on February 26, 2012. A 28 year old man names George Zimmeman killed Trayvon and he is latin american and white. Trayvon had been walking to his dads girlfriends house from 7eleven when he was being followed by George  Zimmerman. Zimmerman called the police before he shot Martin sying he witnessed some suspicious behavior. Soon after that he shot Martin. George Zimmerman said he had reacted in self defense. The police did not arrest George Zimmerman because they said on March 12 that they did not find evidence to contradict his assertion of self-defense.The circumstances of Martin's death reached national and international news. Many people, from civil rights leaders to public officials including Reverend Al Sharpton, President Barack Obama, Jesse Jackson, and Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi have made public comments or released statements about the shooting. People said he ws just on his way home and the man shot Trayvon just because they were racist. I beleive that racism still occurs today and others don't. But that's only because people don't bring racism to a front police try to sweep it under the rug. I  believe that if this was a white boy and a black man who had killed them that the man would have been arrested. Now that can't happen because George Zimmerman is in hiding. And if they do try to arrest him they would have to find him first. Many people believe that he should be arrested beacuse killing is a true crime, and it wasn't for self defense, he did it because he says he was looking suspicious. This is my opinion about the killing of Trayvon Martin.

Im a Criminal and So Are You

This article is about how people who are felons are discriminated against because they got caught breaking the law. Michelle Alexander believes that this isn't fair. I agree with her. She says that if you are a felony in this country then they can deny you of some of your rights. They can deny you of your right to vote, automatically, employment,housing, education, public benefits, and food stamps. I Michelle also says that just because you weren't caught breaking the law doesn't mean that your not a criminal you still are. I agree with her about how its not right to take away criminals rights but only to a certain extent i think that if you were accused of killing, robbing, assault or any violent crimes then you maybe you should get some of your rights taken away but if you where convicted of a crime like smoking weed, or something than small then they should still have their rights because people can change especially if they got convicted in an early age for something. If the person really wants to change and they cant better their education or get a better job or something what are they supposed to do. They will probably most likely continue with the things that got them in trouble in the first place, but only because they don't have anything positive that they can do. Like for instance if a man gets convicted for something and he gets out. He will want to provide for his family but her may not be able to because the law says that he has been restricted o his rights that is really not fair and it should not be so. If everyone was to have their rights tooken because they have done a crime then the U.S would not get anywhere because somebody, once,twice, or even more has broken the law and people will continue doing it. So I agree with Michelle in the point that she was trying to make.

Photoshop or Not ?

 Photoshop is really big these days. When photo shopping a photo of someone you can take 10-20 pounds off of them, make them a couple of inches taller, take the wrinkles off or maybe a pimple. Also the article stated that photo shop is not good because teenagers try to look like a model or celebrity that is skinny and trying to become skinny. But the person advertising it is not really that size. I really don’t think photo shopping is really that necessary. You need to be yourself for the first time and not someone you’re not and that you want to be. If you really want to look like that try it yourself instead of depending on the Adobe Photoshop software all the time. See us normal people do not have that type of stuff. We try to work out ourselves and succeed to what we want to be. I feel as though this article is true and I really agree with it a lot. That is basically cheating from my point of view. Wouldn’t models and celebrities want to be role models to us young children and teenagers? So why do they go out and get photo shopped and not show they true colors. I wonder do they ever feel bad or have a guilty conscious. This happened in the article and what I think about the article.

For Women Under 30, Most Births Occur Outside Marraige

In the US, it used to be called illegitimacy. Now it's normal. In this article, it talks about how more women today are getting pregnant before getting married. More than half of the births to American women under 30 get pregnant  outside of marriage. In the last two decades, women in their 20s have some college education college, but when they get pregnant, they are not able to finish the education that need while they are pregnant. I think that even while a woman is pregnant and have some college education, some of the woman can still be able to take care of their child if they put the child in day care after the baby is a little older, then go back to college and finish their education.

59 percent of the women in 2009, get married when they have children. In the US children are born to mothers under the age of 30. 73 percent of black children are born outside of marriage and 53 percent of latinos and 29 percent of whites. Also 92 percent of college educated women are married when they give birth and 43 percent of schooling women have children with a diploma or less. A lot of women believe that you should get married first before you start having children. They think that commitment is best when you're having children.

In China, Human Costs Are Built Into An IPad

In China, Human Costs Are Built Into an iPad Charles Duhigg and David Barboza point out how workers that work in the apple factory  are being abused, and treated unfairly, and they are doing harsh work. Workers  work long hours and they stand so long that they're legs swell and 137 workers who worked for apple were hurt after they used a poisonous chemical to clean the iPad screen. 

This article included quotes from workers and advocates. One quote that stood out was former chairman  of the National advisory committee on occupational safety and health when he said "What's morally repugnant in one country is accepted business practices in another, and companies take advantage of that". 

This shows that companies could care less about the working conditions for the workers. I think what these big companies are doing to their workers is very wrong and unfair. I say that because no one should have to work long hours, be in contact with poisonous air and chemicals and be treated like dirt. I think that companies should have should care more for the workers since they are the backbone of the company. 

The girls in Ethiopia and the workers are similar in a

 way by them all suffering from unfairness and people turning the other cheek on them. This article gave me a new thought about what it would be like to work for a company and the conditions I would be in. This is the disgrace that happened with the innocent people in China. 

Jay-Z and Beyonce's New Born Child

Beyonce gave birth to her first child baby girl Blue Ivy Cater in Lenox Hill Hospital in New York on Saturday. On Friday, Beyonce checked into the hospital and rented the entire fourth floor out for 1.3 million dollars. The hospitals windows and security cameras were blacked out to keep the couples privacy. Employees were to turn in their cell phones before starting their shift.News spread after the couples closest friends and family made tweets congratulating them on their first child. Rihanna tweeted on Saturday, “Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih.” Also congratulating the couple Russell Simmons said “Congratz to my good friends Beyonce and Jay-Z. The couple chose “Ivy” because of the importance of the number “4” or “IV” in roman numerals. Beyonce’s birthday is on September 4 and Jay-Z’s on December 4, they were married on April 4, and Beyonce’s latest album is entitled 4. They chose the name “Blue” because Jay-Z’s hugely successful album “The Blueprint.”I’m glad that Beyonce finally popped. I’m happy for her and her Jay-Z. I believe Beyonce is a role model to so many girls because she did it the right way. She dated Jay-Z, they got married, and then she got pregnant. I think she is a leader and she is sending out a good role to the girls that look up to her. I remember when Beyonce first announced her pregnancy on MTV’s Video Music Awards and while she was singing I was saying that she looks pregnant and it turned out to be true.

Animals Shouldn't Be Abused

There is More abuse on animal now then there ever was.The world we live in today there are a lot of neglect happening, one having to do with animals. This has to do with people not giving them the right care, which includes leaving them without food, shelter or water. It could be something inside of the caretaker, that gives then the Crazy idea to neglect animals . Their life style might not be the best, something in their childhood might give them the intensions of doing the wrong thing. ``Purina developed the body condition, this help judge if the pet appearance is normal or not. emaciated: backbones, pelvic bones, are prominent from a distance, body fat is not visible and loss off muscle mass. very thin: ribs, backbones easily visible no palpable fat. heavy: heavy fat cover, palpable ribs . I think that neglect on animals should be handle in a different way and more people should care, because no animal should be abused and nothing happen to that person,animals are living things just like us, and should be treated like us. Abusing or neglecting an animal shouldn't be a way of letting anger out an excuse of someones life shouldn't be a reason of doing bad things to an animal. Animals have feelings just live we do, they get emotional, they want to be happy. They may be sad people that are abusing them. People obviously don't care about anyones life but their own. They should be put in jail. if you buy a pet you should always and remain to take care of it with love as if it was a child. there are a lot of animals getting put into shelters and neglect homes because of the bad things their owner has done to them. They also buy pets and can`t afford them so the animal ends up on the street alone and looking for a home ,food and some one to care for them .

Teens Breaking Up

The article teaching kids is about teens breaking up with each other on facebook. Some people think it;s a healthy way of moving on from your ex. Some people on the other hand find it stupid and immature. Roberto claimed who proclaimed with a bit too much gusto that " racing to update your relationship status after a break up is healthy behavior. Even though when a bisexual 15- year old confessed in a morning session that she learned that her girlfriend of two years dumped her only when she changed her relationship status to single. I thought that was dumb and unfair for her to find out that way. Personally I will never break up with someone over a computer. That is very stupid to me. If I was to break up with someone it would ether be in person, over a phone call, or a text. Ad least the whole world doesn't have to see only the person I am breaking up with unless they share the information with someone else. In today's generation a lot of teens end their relationships over electronics. I really don't agree with that way or style of breaking up with someone. When I read this article I understood where some people were coming from because many of my friends have gone through this. And even then I didn't understand breaking up with someone over the computer. I do not support breaking up with someone over a social network!

Cracking Teenagers

Dr. Danah Boyd is a 34 year old woman that acts like a teenage girl. She is a senior researcher at microsoft. She is also an assistant professor at New York University. Dr. Boyd is researching that teenagers are posting to much information on their online pages. She thinks that parents are worried about the wrong things. The article says that parents are worried about their child getting bullied and they also think that unsavory marketers lurk. Dr. Boyd thinks that the childs ability to roam has been destroyed . She also thinks that parents think that the world is getting badder every year but Dr. Boyd thinks otherwise. She stated "Letting your child out to bike around the neighborhood is seen as terrifying now, even though by all measures life is safer for kids today." She also said that children need freedom to explore and experience the things online that might help them. The article states that parents are worried about their child getting bullied online but Dr. Boyd said that children get bullied more at school than online. The article also says that parents are scared that their child might molested but Dr. Boyd said that it is a 9 out of 10 chance a child get raped online. She also said that most of child molestations happen by people that the child already knows.

Biggest Story of 2011

Osama Bin Laden was known as the biggets terrorist in the U.S. People have been talking about his death for weeks. People said they was happy that he died and people even said that they don't believe that he was dead. They think they shot the wrong man, or he wasn't killed at all. Alot of people including me are glad that he died, because about 10 years ago on September 11,2001 he planned he sent a terrorist attack to New York. When that happened he killed many people, damaged buildings, and also put alot of families threw stress and pain. Osama Bin Laden was a sick man. Why would he want to kill thousands of people and put so much hate on himself. His death was the result of a U.S. operation in Abbottabad, Pakistan,in a place where he was hiding, according to Barack Obama. He deserved to be killed after all the things he put people threw. People celebrated his death. They celebrated his death because everyone was so happy that he died. They we happy he died because he hurt so many innocent people threw something that they didn't deserve. If it was my decision to kill him, I would have did it along time ago. I would have did it along time ago because he could have sent more terrorist attacks and hurt more people. This is what I think about Osama Bin Laden. Also this what I think was the biggest story of 2001.

Plan B

Plan B is a pill that helps prevent a woman's pregnancy. The earlier you take take the pill, the better the pill works. You have up to 72 hours to prevent a pregnancy. Plan B is not an abortion pill, it helps stop the pregnancy before the baby starts to form up to the 72 hours. With the pill it is not an abortion because a woman wouldn't even be months into their pregnancy they would be days into it. This morning after pill is not mean to take weeks after, it is actually meant to take the morning after the event took place. If you don’t take it the morning after you can actually take it even sooner. I believe that if Plan B was to be sold over the counter to teens 16 and younger it would be a bad decision. I believe this because if younger teens knew they had access to this produce some would abuse it. Also, they could get this produce without their parents’ permission. Plan B was made to prevent pregnancies, so shouldn't it be available to all ages? Now, you have to go to your doctor to get a prescription to get the medicine. Most adults cannot handle the fact that their kids are having sex. When they want to go to the doctor to get a prescription your parents will have to get involved. If it is available over the counter younger girls can buy it and not be teenage parents or even have to get abortions.This is what I hink of the Plan B morning after pill.

Baby killed by the mothers boyfriend

Lackawanna County District Attorney Andy Jarbola says 2 month old Jayden Cohen died Monday. The baby was killed my being shaken by his mother's boyfriend. The boyfriend has been in custody charged with aggravated assault and child endangerment since the infant was in the hospital on December 20th. The mother left the baby with her boyfriend in the apartment they shared in Dunmore. When the baby arrived at the hospital, he had no brain activity. The suspect is being held on $100,000 bail. I think a man like him should be in jail. No one should be free for doing a crime, that's why he should be in jail , especially for killing a innocent child.Why would people just want to hurt somebody ? Violence doesn't solve anything, it's just making it worst on you self. It's making it worst on you self because you're going to have to go to jail to face the consequences. I think the mother shouldn't have left the baby with. I say this because it's not the babies father and he could have kidnapped the baby and if she didn't leave the baby with her boyfriend, then the baby maybe would still be alive. Why would a man like him to that to baby. He wouldn't like it if someone did that to his child,or even if someone did something to him like that. He doesn't know how it feels to die and someone taking everything from him. This is what I think about this man killing a 2 month old infant.
